4th wall applies. Co-written with Derekmun.
This is after the public fight with Leon about Hippolyta, but before the private apology Derek made.

"Is Leon still on nexus?"
"He is. They all are. He's
governmentninja now through livejournal. He changed the name. But yeah."
"He's no ninja."
Derek actually gets WHY Leon is upset. But he doesn't get the man's inflexibility. "He's what the slang variation of 'cowboy' is meant for. Not in the nice way. They have the subtlety of a brick...And here you guys thought *I* was bad...but, yeah."
Jun scowls.
Derek has his own reasons for being pissy.
Jun doesn't much like the nexus anymore.
Derek is getting to that point.
She's not too wild about the quality of people.
He's also getting to the point of not wanting to be too friendly with folks.
As far as he can tell, the 'good guys' are, for the most part, just as self-righteously assholish as the 'bad guys'. Jun taught him how to like being around people again. The REtards are reminding him why he stayed away from most. The one thought that sums it up for him? "They'd never make it as vampire hunters."
"Yes. I can see that."
"They don't have the reasoning skills for it."
She nods her head.
"I was antisocial until I met you. Then I became outgoing. Now I remember why I wasn't outgoing by the time I met you."
Jun rubs his back.
He sighs, and leans into her hands a little. "They make me tired, Jun. Old and tired."
She speaks softly, running her fingers over that particular spot. "You already are old, dear man. That's just your years talking." But she sighs too; because she knows what he means and she's supposedly a lot younger. To quote Jinpei, she says, "Stupid people make you tired."
Derek nods, then sighs. "They aren't stupid, Jun. Just...too sure of a morality that's never been tested. Not really. They don't have to see past their own beliefs, so they don't see past them."
She strokes through the hair at the base of his skull. After a bit she says, "That's a functional definition of stupid, Anthony."
There's a pause, then he laughs a little. "I guess you're right," his voice is quiet. "Can't blame me for trying though, can you? They are friends...just...not teammates." After another pause, he adds, "I think...I need to get my head back on straight. Take some time for that. I've been an ass lately. I'm sorry."
There are times when he's an ass and doesn't know it, and doesn't apologize. He hasn't been rude to her, in recent memory, but she lets his apology slide by without comment. Perhaps he has been rude and she hasn't noticed. She's been so busy. She scratches the nape of his neck. "I don't blame you. I think I fell in love with you because of this sort of thing you have. You talk as if the people you're talking to are good at thinking." Jun switches hands and probes at her own hip absently.
"Hmn," he looks back at her and smiles a little.
"...Or not good at thinking." She purses her lips then smiles back at him. "Time for sleep?"
"Yeah. How's the hip?"
"It's okay. I think my period is coming."
Derek nods, his own hand drifting to gently rub her hip as well. She looks away from him and shrugs. He leans back to kiss her forehead then offers his hand to her.
She takes it and leads them to bed.
